4.15.23~ This was an impulse buy to get P&G rebate.
Not really a downy fan (gasp I know). Used to be but now use baking soda bc skin allergies.
However use Lysol Laundry Sanitizer so thought this may be an alternative to try.
Cool Cotton Scent is Soft. No heavy perfume in bottle or clothes. Just smells clean.
So here’s the thing~
There are no words or proper description to describe what this does.
I know it saaaays it removes residue & odor but not like anything I’ve ever used.
My clothes feel Squeaky Clean. Like your face after exfoliating.
Can feeeeel the difference coming out of the washer.
Clothes dry quicker. Like 20%. That last bit of damp that usually holds on? Gone.
Still wrinkles on full dry, like if you don’t use Downy or Baking soda softener.
It’s a life altering product. Especially for Humid living, Sweaty working people.
So why 4 Stars? The Dose.
There is No Info anywhere on bottle saying how much to Use.
The cap is maybe 2 Tablespoons but for what size load?
Is this like a pod situation that you start with 2 and increase to soil & fill level?
We may never know. The bottle doesn’t even say How many Loads to Expect.
C’mon P&G, you’re better than this right?
To get “Squeaky Clean” Clothes, Towels, Linens, even sneakers,
Used almost half a bottle for Spring Cleaning wash at Laundromat.
The Front loader is what my place calls “Super”. Equivalent to (2) Top Load washes.
**How Much I used**
Like I said Spring Cleaning and it was my 1st time using the ‘Rinse & Refresh’.
One Load~ Set of Queen Sheets & Full load of very gross, dried in, sweaty clothes.
Used Gain concentrate cap as measure (the one in the Eco Box like Wine). 2Caps per Load.
Half cap added to liquid detergent in Pre And Regular Wash
Full Cap in Fabric Softener space.
That 3x’s depleted bottle to just over half.
As this is a Residue Remover, only going to use Now & Again.
Will stay with My Beloved Lysol Laundry for Weekly Wash.
Downy Rinse & Refresh will get pulled out For Deep Clean every couple months.
Would I use it more often with directions or if it was 6 bucks like Lysol vs 12? Yes.
All I needed to wash was Detergent & Downy.
Usually must layer baking soda in dry clothes & vinegar in liquid soap.
Neither of these Ever Ever got my clothes this Ridiculously Immaculate.

Works great to remove smells from laundry and leaves clothes smelling fresh and soft, without the use of fabric softener. I love the scent as it is very light and not overpowering.
The value, however, isn’t really there. Without a coupon you’re paying $13, which is fairly pricy for what it does. You could put 1/2 cup vinegar in the fabric softener tray and it does the same thing, just without the scent.
Also, the cap is a bit annoying to use and seems like an afterthought. In the pictures on the label it shows a pouring spout, but the bottle is like a gatorade sized hole. Not the easiest to pour when it’s full.
Overall though the product works well, even if it is a bit pricey.

Used in wash with smelly sneakers and the Oder was gone..really gone!
Tried on wet clothes that were left in the back of construction hubbys truck that had dried and smelled of mold ..yuck ! Didn’t want to put in my washer but I did and the clothes were good as new! The washer smelled okay too ..nothing lingering! Worth the price if you have smelly things to deal with!

I like the clean pleasant smell of this product. One suggestion…the bottle’s current shape can slip [and has] right out of your hands. To avoid this pour it into a measuring cup. :O)

This stuff is fantastic!!!!! I have been in a long battle with my clothes that for some reason, over time, my clothes start to actually stink just hanging in my closet. I thought it was because of fabric softener so I stopped using it. I tried all different detergents. I tried scent boosters like unstoppables. I tried doing extra rinses. I thought maybe they weren’t drying well enough so I’d run the dryer extra time to be sure. I thought maybe there was moisture in my closet and started using a dehumidifier. Nothing worked. I have tried so many things – AND THIS IS IT.
I can now pull clothes out of my closet that haven’t been worn in weeks and IT STILL SMELLS FRESH. Oh my gosh. It’s such a simple thing, but it’s such a huge thing for me. My mom could smell the stinky odor that was on my clothes before and I’m willing to bet other people could too. I think I got used to it and only noticed it when it was really bad. It’s so embarrassing to think other people probably thought I stunk even though my clothes were clean. This has just been such a weight lifted off my shoulders that I no longer have to worry about it. Not only is the problem solved, but this stuff smells amazing! If you have problems with your clothes not smelling fresh – try this! Do it!

product did a good job of stripping laundry smell from both over-use of detergent, a few loads that day too long, and a blanket that the cat “attacked”. But the bottle is terribly designed and liquid spills and gets messy because the bottle is soft sided, so the sides collapse when the lid is removed and it is picked up. It is very difficult to pour until (into the machine or into the lid to measure) without spilling until the bottle is about half empty. It needs one of those pop-tops like you see on water bottles.

Love the scent of this product and it does remove residue from clothing and I could swear the washer drum looked cleaner. I have two issues, 1st the bottle needs some sort of grip or it will slide out of your hands and 2nd unless it’s on sale it’s a bit pricey for me.
