Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Lotion is my absolute favorite lotion. It provides deep hydration and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and nourished. The coconut oil-infused formula has a delightful tropical scent that instantly transports me to a beachside paradise. I especially appreciate how it quickly absorbs into my skin without feeling greasy, making it perfect for daily use. It has been a lifesaver during dry, winter months and has significantly improved the overall texture and moisture levels of my skin. Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Lotion is a skincare must-have, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of intense hydration and a delightful fragrance.

It works well but I don’t like the faint coffee scent in it (fair since I don’t like coffee, my mistake!) I’m saving it for when I’m putting clothes on right away. It’s a good back up lotion. Strong scent. Moisturizing.

So I looking to replace the Shea butter, same size and also Palmer which had lasted me about a year of fairly consistent use. I do admit that I wasn’t looking closely and was disappointed that this one is COCONUT not COCOA butter. Now like the Shea butter, it works, and lasts for a very long time. I can smell it in the shower the next day even a little more than 24hrs later and during the winter especially I get dry skin.
That’s the good news.
But I’m not sure what it is about these bigger size bottles but they just don’t smell as good as the smaller ones like the 13.5oz bottles. I assume more filler lotions are responsible but that’s just my opinion.
I will say that I have pretty sensitive skin, especially my face and usually I don’t have any issues using the Cocoa butter and Shea butter on my face but this Coconut stuff stung and turned my skin red, I had to wash it off. Now I can’t even use Cocoa butter on it and had to find a special lotion that my skin can tolerate and it is a body lotion only for me.
Also the smell is just a bit funky and not what I expected, if you’ve ever made anything that uses butter and sugar beat together with a hand mixer, It smells just like that but not super sweet. It not unpleasant but not the classic Cocoa butter I was expecting. (Yes I know it is coconut but it doesn’t smell super like that either my family used to use straight Coconut oil for cooking and other stuff too so I know. I described the smell as best I can. But maybe it won’t bother a lot of people, I have a pretty sensitive sense of smell too which effects greatly what I am willing to use on myself.)
I tend to use the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Skin Therapy Solid Lotion with Vitamin E, Body Moisturizer for Extremely Dry Skin, Softens and Soothes, 7.25 Ounces on the tougher spots, feet, heels, elbows, knees, hands but since it is more sticky I use the bigger lotions to help blend it into my skin and it works a lot better that way without staining clothes or leaving your skin feeling sticky for hours and at least for me that works pretty well and makes both products last longer.
Overall I’d probably say in order of Palmer lotions, I like Cocoa butter, then Shea then Coconut. I will say that I have not tried the large size of Cocoa butter yet and will use the coconut until it’s gone first but I might stick to the smaller sizes after that, not sure I want to risk having a huge thing of Cocoa butter that also doesn’t smell quite right.
Other cons:
The pump straw on the inside is NOT long enough, it starts having trouble getting the lotion out with quite a bit left in there. You’re better off ditching the pump entirely and/or moving what’s left to a smaller container or I’ve seen some people cut the bottle in half to get the remainder.
Also I’m not sure who is in charge of packing these things, they should minimum put them in a plastic bag or use some rubber bands to keep them closed, mine arrived in a box and the pump had worked open, but because so little of it managed to get out and nothing was damaged so I didn’t try to return it or anything, but it’s something to keep in mind. Maybe making it a lone order might be best.

Thick lotion that absorbs quickly. Pleasant light coconut fragrance. Great price. Works well. Don’t understand or agree with the negative reviews. I will order this again & again.

REFRESHING!! Solid moisturizer. Sweetish scent, but substantial coverage. I’m amending my previous review about this — I’ve come to discover it’s really a good buy — it’s just a bit sweet-scented. Go for it. NICE / LIGHT

I’m constantly looking for a good consistent body lotion that feels thick on but doesn’t take much force to rub in and isn’t so watery it pours out of the bottle. Great product, will buy again.

This hydrating lotion is incredible with just the cocoa butter in it. Back before the technology and the additional ingredients, like green coffee, etc, this stood above the crowd. I knew Palmers back in the sat bahaha. This lotion is the most hydrating of lotions and it does what it says it will do. If your skin breaks out, just reduce the amount u r applying and go up. Don’t stop using. Your skin will become accustomed to it. Just like skincare for our face, sometime purging has to happen to make way for the brightness and smoothness and all the other good things your skin wants to be. I love the smell and it is not overly powerful. Take my words for it. It’s like a good perfume, it needs time to dry down. I believe if u r debating on whether to buy this, I say to definitely buy because you will be left with the softest and smoothest skin you could ever dream of. I have never been a person who buys in bulk, but on rare occasions, I will. This was one of those occasions and I am sooooo happy I did. I won’t run out anytime soon and I like it. I have always loved Palmers, and I am crazy for their latest developments on skin care for the body. Also, I would not hesitate to apply to my face as a moisturizer. As a matter of fact, when I finish with the moisturizers I have for my face, i am going to start using the Palmers after my serums. If I have a nit of breakout from all the moisturizing, it will not deter me. Those little bumpies will go away after my skin get used to it. Can you tell I love Palmers? This particular lotion is so great, the words I have written doesn’t give it justice. IF U SUFFER WITH DRY SKIN LIKE I DID, MAKE A CHANGE. LIKE TODAY. YOU WILL NOT LOOK BACK.

I really prefer the coconut oil palmer’s compared to the cocoa butter palmer’s. If you love the scent of the cocoa butter, then you can stick with that. But this one has a softer scent and I’m not left smelling like chocolate by the middle of the day. It really makes my skin soft and keeps it moisturized.

This is a really good value. It feels great and the scent is pleasant. The affordable price encourages you to indulge a bit and your skin appreciates it.

This lotion for its value is a S T E A L!! Why? Let me explain.
I have a whole host of skin issues due to having sensitive skin. I have KP, Hyperpigmentation, Scarring, Acne, Chronic Dryness, etc. This lotion has helped me with all of those things and its ingredients are very good for you!
– It doesn’t have any Silicones which can clog your pores depending on your skin type or how often you lotion inbetween showers and if you use soaps that have sulfates to dissolve the silicones; so if you have a Sulfate Free bath routine; this lotion is a MUST to avoid silicones but still have super hydrated and soft skin.
– The hydration literally lasts all day or sometimes almost 2 days.
– The smell is a nice fresh Coconut scent; but it’s light enough if you want to change up and DIY it into a scent you’d accept more; buy some lotion fragrance oils and mix a few drops in. I added Birthday Cake and Chocolate-scented drops into my Value Size bottle, so now it smells heavenly!
– It (unintentionally) brightens and lightens your skin slowly over time. This lotion has a lot of brightening ingredients in it; I’m not sure if Palmer’s knew that or if they used these ingredients for their other great factors and nutrients to the skin. But my KP and body scars are slowly starting to fade with the consistent use of this lotion.
Here are some very minor Cons of the lotion:
– It is a very heavy and thick lotion that WILL hydrate your life better than a hot date on a Saturday night. Because of this, it’s great as a winter, fall, and spring moisturizer, but summer? Use it sparingly or try not to go too heavy with it! You’ll feel lubed up for dayssss. Unless you like that sorta thing~
– I saw people complain about the smell. I personally don’t mind the mild scent of Coconut. However, I am a Gourmand queen and I love smelling like I got dipped in chocolate, nutty, cookie batter goodness. Like in my Pros section above. Just add some fragrance oils meant to be added to lotions and spruce it up a bit! Be sure to patch test as you mix to make sure your skin won’t be irritated. I recommend taking out a bit of lotion and mixing it separately and see how it fairs with your skin before committing to transforming your whole bottle.
All in all. I L O V E this lotion, and nothing will separate it from me. It’s a keeper~
